Raga Mala Music Society of Calgary

Established in 1975, Raga-Mala is dedicated to promote music and dance of India and to encourage interaction between Eastern and Western musicians and dancers.

Raga-Mala has presented more than two hundred performances of music and dance of artists from both Northern (Hindustani) and Southern (Carnatic) traditions of India. The performers include most of the stalwarts as well as many rising stars from both music traditions of India.

To encourage learning of Indian music and dance, Raga-Mala awards two scholarships annually. The Ali Akhbar scholarship for Hindustani music and Saraswati scholarship for Carnatic music.

Raga-Mala is a registered charity with Canada Revenue Agency (CRA). The registration with CRA provides tax benefits for donations to the society.
